Chapter Fifteen: A New Start
They all stepped out and felt the freezing weather before them. The man before them finally spoke as they got all their bags and stuff out. â
Hello!â cheered the man. He was unusually joyful to see them.
âAh Iâm happy to see you all here as Marvin said, but where is he?â asked the man.
Dayton looked down for a moment, and the man realized. âOh...thatâs...unfortunate. Saewine will be upset to hear the news.â
There's that name again. Clover heard it from Marvin that one time. The man before them then sighed and then sprung up again.
âAh Iâm sorry again, I havenât even introduced myself yet!â said the man once more. âI am Felix, one of the head directors of the Eslionâs here. Iâm early in my twenties, but most people here are pretty young, but Iâm here to direct you to the headquarters.â
Clover observed him for a while, he had dark brown hair and some very defined blue eyes. They werenât as blue as Erlineâs but they were a pretty blue that were just as pretty. He wore a pretty hefty jacket and wore boots. Now that Clover listened to his voice more, he actually had a Russian accent.
The thought that a Russian would even come together to fight and be an Eslion was pretty cool. The Russians currently as everyone knows it are still being hated for saving certain countries and not letting them free. Clover knew that not all Russians were bad, but she was more surprised that he was accepted by the others. Before she could stare any longer in thought, he moved and took Cloverâs hand. She didnât even realize that he gave everyone jackets. She looked up again, and he was a towering person. He was about six foot at least. Clover snapped from her thoughts again, and looked at him in the eyes once more, to her she still saw him holding her hand ready to say something.
Felix looked into Cloverâs eyes and said âAnd you must be Clover Jager?â
Clover yanked her hand back from him. âUh yeah, thatâs me.â
He then put his hand on her shoulder and said âDonât fret, Iâm good friends with Adam.â
Clover was surprised that he knew Adam, as far as she knew was that he was once in war. It wouldnât be totally unbelievable.
She said a little âhuh.â in her breath anyhow.
He lifted his hands from his shoulder and then was back to his springy step.
âWe should get to the camp before it gets colder or darker.â said Felix.
Everyone agreed and got into the jeep willingly. Felix started the engine, and it began to move. Dayton sat in the front while everyone else including Clover sat in the back.
The trip was pretty slow and all, but they seemed to go upward. Clover was still thinking about how Felix may know Adam. To her surprise, she may have not even really known Adam by a lot. Clover never really asked about his past, but she was sure that if she did ask he would gladly tell her.
